Food Intake, Body Weight Gain, and Body Composition of the Young Obese Mouse

Significant differences in energy metabolism may occur very early in the life of obese mice. The time it takes for the mouse to adapt to the new diet as soon as weaning varies with diet consumed and sex. Male obesity just maintain their weight soon after weaning while women are obese and lean began to gain weight soon after weaning, particularly when fed a high-fat diet.

The rats were placed in a wire fence believed in the room is maintained at 22-24 ° C when weaned. This may have been emphasizing a fat male, which is known for adapting cold (22, 23), to a greater degree than the other mice. Critical temperature, which is defined as a temperature below that there was an increase in metabolic rate, young rats was 30-32 ° (24, 25). In the study, obese rats consume more food than a lean rats for 5 weeks feeding period. However, even when the mice obese and lean-eating couples from 24 days of age (26) or when the weight of adult obesity in mice was reduced to the level of lean rats (27-30), obese mice still contained more fat than lean mice. This study, as well as others (31, 32) shows that excessive food intake can increase the level of obesity, but it may not be needed for development.

Mice obesity is far more efficient in maintaining diet energy than lean mice when one of the experimental diets. A comparison between the stock carb diet and a diet high in fat should be made because one of the reservations formulated by the public and other feedstuff with spring ingredients purified. The observed differences may be due to diet may have been caused by factors other major sources of dietary energy, namely carbohydrates versus fat. Nevertheless, this research suggests that the composition of the diet can affect energy efficiency to a greater degree on obesity rats than in mice that are slim. A high carbohydrate Diet is a diet that stock was chosen because it is available in the form of pelleted, which greatly facilitated the gathering of data on food intake in young.
